Minnesota State's agreed upon definitions pertaining to OER and open education.

A Z-degree is an associate's or bachelor's degree that has zero-cost course resources for students. Minnesota State has a number of these currently being offered and more in development.

This allows students to limit their course searches during registration to "no cost for textbooks" as part of their criteria.

2021 deadline has passed for 30 subscribers.

A project that is supported by a federal grant, this program will create open textbooks and OERs for core teacher education courses to attract and retain a broader representation of teacher candidates.

Now in it's 5th year, the Librarian Workdays provide professional development opportunities for library personnel.

Opendora, developed by PALS, is a digital archive for open educational resources that serves as a central repository for Minnesota State faculty and librarians to leverage licensed open educational resources (OER) with the ability to access, load, and share material. Opendora allows the storage of or linking to, course content, including textbooks, lecture notes, syllabi, reading lists and videos.

This group represents bargaining units and other interested members of Minnesota State in discussions around textbook affordability topics.
